Dotto

Dotto is an eight-year-old boy from the Shinyanga region of Tanzania who currently studies at Camp Joshua Christian School. He comes from a family with a twin brother and another brother named George, and they all came to Camp Joshua in January 2024. At his young age, Dotto has already developed clear personal preferences. His favorite food is rice and beans, a common meal in Tanzania. He loves the color black and is passionate about football (soccer), which he plays during recess with many of the other boys and girls. He dreams of becoming a doctor, showing an early ambition to help others and contribute to his community’s well-being.The Sukuma naming tradition suggests that as a twin, Dotto likely carries a special significance in his community. In Sukuma culture, twins are considered to have divine connections and are treated with great respect. His presence at Camp Joshua also means he is receiving education, care, and opportunities that might not have been available to him otherwise, thanks to the organization’s mission to support disadvantaged children.
