Growing up in a challenging environment of Arusha, Tanzania, fifeteen-year-old, Emmanuel, has found hope and support through Camp Joshua Christian School. An orphan who lost both parents, he was taken in by a neighboring single mother who had twin boys of her own. After bringing her own two young boys to Camp Joshua a few years ago, she decided that Emmanuel would also benefit from the care of Happiness Wambura, the compassionate founder of LOHADA. Despite his difficult background, Emmanuel lives at the school alongside other children from disadvantaged backgrounds, receiving education, shelter, and care. At Camp Joshua, he attends primary school with approximately 200 other children, most of whom come from Unga Limited slums and nearby impoverished areas. The school provides him not just with academic education in subjects like mathematics, English, Swahili, and science, but also offers a nurturing environment where children are loved and supported.
