Ibrahim

Seven-year-old Ibrahim lives in Arusha with his parents and three siblings. His father, disabled from an accident in his youth, works as a shoemaker, while his mother earns money by washing clothes for others. One of Ibrahim’s siblings was born with a disability and requires specialized education, adding to the family’s struggles. Despite their hardships, Ibrahim remains a charming and caring child, particularly attentive to his father’s needs. He has a passion for learning and dreams of becoming a police officer when he grows up. His enthusiasm for education is noteworthy, especially considering the difficult circumstances many children in Arusha face. For children like Ibrahim and his disabled sibling, access to quality education can be particularly challenging. While there are some initiatives in Tanzania to support children with disabilities, such as the Mwanangu Special School, the need for inclusive education and support services remains high.
