Joining Camp Joshua in April 2022, ten-year-old Kelvin lives in Arusha with his family, which includes one sister named Clara and a younger brother. His world is characterized by a love for football (soccer), a sport deeply ingrained in Tanzanian culture. Kelvin’s aspirations to become a soldier reflect the dreams of many young Tanzanians seeking structured career paths and opportunities for personal advancement. His favorite color black and love for ugali, Tanzania’s national dish, connect him to local cultural traditions. Like many children in urban Tanzania, Kelvin navigates a world of limited opportunities while maintaining hope and enthusiasm for his future.
