Lebahati

Lebahati is a 12-year-old boy from a Maasai village who grew up with a relative after his parents seperated and both lost their jobs. Growing up in a large family with 5 brothers and 6 sisters, Lebahati has learned resilience from an early age. He first came to Camp Joshua in 2019 and is currently in class four. Despite his challenging background, Lebahati maintains vibrant dreams and interests. English is his favorite subject, and he harbors an ambitious goal of becoming a footballer. His connection to his Maasai heritage is evident in his love for his cultural roots, while also embracing broader aspirations. Lebahati’s imagination is captured by the majestic wildlife of his homeland – with elephants being his favorite animal and when he was younger, he used to dream of becoming a lion – symbolizing his spirit of courage and determination.
