Vedastus (Vedasto)

Vedastus is a 12-year-old boy from Shinyanga, a village in northern Tanzania. Growing up in a bustling region known for its livestock and agricultural activities might explain his love of cows. Many people from his region make their living herding cattle. Vedastus comes from a family with three siblings – two brothers and one sister.His love for reading sets him apart, and he dreams of becoming a teacher in the future. Blue is his favorite color and his favorite meal in the dinighall are the rare occasions the children are served meat. Most of their protein comes from beans and lentils.His passion for reading and aspiration to teach reflects the educational spirit of his community at Camp Joshua – where learning and personal growth are highly valued.
