Elia

This little seven-year-old loves chickens so he couldn’t be happier that Camp Joshua has a chicken coop filled with them right in the middle of its campus. All the kids at LOHADA have to help out with chores including washing clothes and feeding the chickens and cows so little Elia usually opts for filling the buckets with chicken feed. When asked, his favorite activity is “doing work” so he happily goes about his chores.

The children on LOHADA are family to each other. Many have siblings at Camp Joshua with them but all the children there act like siblings to each other. They all help out when needed but their main focus is getting a great education so they can break the cycle of poverty they were born into.
