Three-year-old Heavenlight (in the gray sweatshirt) has been best friends with Grace since the day she arrived at Camp Joshua in January 2024. Her mother was only a student herself when she got pregnant with Heaven and was not allowed to finish her studies while pregnant. From the Mara region, which is out past the Serengeti, Heaven would like to grow up to be a teacher. The education she is now receiving at Camp Joshua will point her in the right direction. We’re hoping she comes back after university to teach at Camp Joshua as many of our current teachers have done.
